The Perfect Puppy: Is it Possible?
There have been amazing advances in the study of puppy development. Research has taught us a few things:

  • Modern techniques involve positive reinforcement, and NO punishment.
  • Proper socialization and training during the critical 8-week to 16-week age period can shape the "perfect" puppy personality.

By combining the guidelines in Dr. Dunbar's puppy book, and frequent Puppy Daycare, you are on the way to helping your puppy grow into a well-adjusted, well-behaved and happy member of your family.

Why Puppy Daycare?
Our typical Puppy Daycare parent is busy and hard-working, yet dedicated to helping their puppy develop into a happy and well-behaved mature dog. Puppy Daycare offers an outlet for your puppy's natural instincts and energies. Puppies socialize and learn manners together while running, playing hide-and-seek, snuggling, and hanging out with their friends. Positive socialization is the foundation of proper development.

Benefits

1. Social Development and Happiness:
Puppies are happiest when they can act like puppies. Puppy daycare allows them to interact naturally with other puppies and people.

2. Exercise:
Puppies need lots of time to romp and play. It gives them the needed opportunity to grow up healthy, strong, and happy.

3. Manners:
From day 1, puppies learn how to "play by the rules". When puppies have good manners, they fit into families better, and life is more enjoyable for everyone.

4. Bathroom Training: Puppies thrive in the scheduled format that allows them to learn proper housetraining.

5. Bite Inhibition:
When puppies play with other puppies, they soon learn how to "soft-bite". This is the best way to help reduce the risk associated with biting.

6. Socialization with People:
The time window for socialization with people closes around 3-months (12 weeks) of age. After that time, it is more difficult for puppies and dogs to ever become totally comfortable around people. Some experts recommend that young puppies interact with over 100 different people by age 3-months (an average of 3 unfamiliar people per day). It is important for your puppy to meet, play, and interact with as many different people as possible- the earlier the better!

7. It's Fun!

You can leave your puppy with us in the morning, and pick them up at the end of the day. We provide what they need including play time, numerous walks, and lots of fun. Most importantly, your puppy gets all of the needed socialization for proper growth and development.

We now have many adult dogs staying with us for Daycare. They get plenty of inside and outside playtime, as well as time to relax and take a nap. Socialization and improved behavior are some of the benefits. Pet-Parents also tell us that their dogs are happier after spending a day playing with their friends. Call us at 721-2119 to learn more.
